VHSC tape, introduced in 1982, is a shorter length of standard VHS videotape in a small cartridge for use in a camcorder.  The picture quality is therefore the same as VHS, about 250 lines of resolution.  Viewing the tape involves inserting the cartridge into an adaptor for playback on any standard VHS Video Cassette Recorder.  All of your VHSC tapes will deteriorate over time.  Have them transferred to full size VHS cassettes to make playback easy on your VCR, or to DVD for the ultimate in convenience and longevity.
